It seems like I'm home maybe only, like, two months of the year, haha! I always miss Los Angeles when I'm away. It's not even that I'm "homesick," really—just more like the city recharges me, and I NEED that. It can sometimes be frustrating to constantly be on the road. That's exactly why I live it UP when I'm home and enjoy every moment at all of my spots with my friends and fam. So, come along with me on a tour of MY L.A. below!
There are way too many fave snack spots to list in just one post (look out for a Part II at some point!), but here are my forever-and-always first stops. For tea and a bite—you know I've never had coffee in my life— it's almost always Alfred Coffee. It has a cool vibe and is close to some of my favorite shops (Balenciaga is within blocks). ;) I also can't live without my Erewhon fresh-pressed juice, specifically the Sunrise with organic oranges, apples and carrots. For late nights with friends, and if I want to eat a little naughty, it doesn't get any better than The Nice Guy (must order: meatballs in spicy tomato sauce with basil).
I try to see my skin guru, Christie Kidd, as often as possible. Her guidance and products 100 percent helped me fight my teen acne. Right around the corner in Beverly Hills is Anastasia, whom I would never dream of cheating on with my brows (except maybe if Givenchy is asking, lol!). Otherwise, I'm pretty low maintenance, and my hair and skin get plentyyyy of attention when I'm on the road. It's nice to focus my time on things other than my appearance when I'm home.
You might be surprised to read this, but I'm pretty mainstream in my shopping habits in L.A. I don't really go scouting the city for obscure boutiques or anything (that's for travel adventuring!). Barneys and Wasteland top the list, though. In one trip to both places, you've got both your high and your low, your new and your vintage. Amazing!
I've learned to love NYC (my guide is here!), but I love how laid-back my home is. It's more airy and open, so I'm outside all the time. On some days, hiking Runyon Canyonhas become my new "brunch." It's a chance to catch up with my girls AND get a workout in! Lately—most of all—I've loved to just drive. All day long, I just cruise around in my new car. It's fun to get lost in any area, just dreaming about what my someday-house will look like. I don't think it will ever get old! And, as for L.A., it's where my family is—so I'm here to stay.
