Start in the plank position, with your palms on the floor directly underneath your shoulders. Use your abs to bring your left knee towards your right elbow, keeping your shoulders squared. You should feel a twist in your lower abs. Bring your body back to starting position and repeat with your right knee. Tip: If you prop up your toes on a small towel while doing this move, it helps isolate ab muscles!
Do 2 sets of 10 reps.
Start on your right side and raise your body off the ground, using your forearm and the sides of your feet for support. While pulling your belly button in toward your spine (weird, I know), drop the side of your right hip toward the ground. Come back up to center.
Do 3 sets of 10 reps, alternating sides.
Stand with your feet a little further than hip-width apart and point your toes outward. Extend your arms to the side with your palms facing outwards, and twist your torso to the left. While you twist, move your arms so that your right hand ends up near your left hip, and vice versa. Keep your hips in place while you do this! Hold for a breath, then repeat.
Do 2 sets of 20 reps, alternating sides.
Lie on your back with your knees bent, feet flat on the ground, arms stretched out behind you. Using your abs, raise your arms and shoulders off the floor and bring your body towards your knees. Return to starting position and repeat.
Do 3 sets of 20 reps.
Position your body like you would for a regular sit-up, then cross your right ankle over your left knee. Raise your left leg off the ground (it should still be slightly bent). Using your abs, raise your shoulders off the ground and bring your body towards your legs. Go back to starting position and repeat.
Do 4 sets of 10 reps, alternating sides.
Get into side plank position (supporting your body with your right arm and the side of your left foot) and raise your left arm. Kick your right leg up as you bring your left arm down to meet it—your upper body should be twisting slightly. Return to starting position.
Do 2 sets of 10 reps, alternating sides.
